Margaret Long was born in March 1913 and celebrated her 97th birthday two days before this recording was made. She was born in North London and although her family moved around the country when she was a young child, she has spent most of her life living in Streatham, including a period in Furzedown. In this interview Margaret recalls her later childhood memories of Streatham, her life as a teacher in primary schools and her family's experiences of living through World War Two.
