Jim is a builder, decorator & carpenter who, originally from Ireland, has worked & brought up a family in Furzedown & lived here most of his adult life.Still fit & working at an age when others would be enjoying a quiet retirement, Jim is often to be seen repairing and repainting houses in the area and, if exteriors, enjoying a chat with passers-by. Those lucky enough to have employed Jim know that he has a genuine love for good quality building work, construction & engineering & has acquired a wealth of invaluable information about how best to preserve & repair the Edwardian houses in this area of London.

In this interview Jim talks about his childhood in Connemara, Ireland, his move to London as a young man & his life & work in Furzedown.
